Abbie had always been fascinated with Helen Keller and now was the perfect opportunity! Abbie and her father tour the historic home and stay the night to watch The Miracle Worker on the grounds of the birthplace. Instead of driving on to Memphis, they decide to stay at a nearby bed and breakfast called Sharlotte House. While staying at the bed and breakfast, Abbie discovers a curious pile of ripped up paper pieces that once formed some kind of letter. Frustrated that she can't put the letter back together, she shoves them in her pocket and hopes that Becca will be able to lend some assistance. Soon the two friends are reunited! When a pipe bursts in Becca's house and floods the downstairs, they are forced to move to the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis. The Peabody Hotel is famous for the ducks that swim in the fountain and live on the roof. While the girls are staying at the hotel, the ducks are stolen! It doesn't take long for Abbie and Becca to jump on the case. When they start their investigation, they decide to recreate the crime. While searching for clues outside one of the exits to the hotel, Abbie discovers another torn piece of paper that matches ones she found in the bed and breakfast in Tuscumbia. Join Abbie and Becca on an adventure filled mystery through downtown Memphis!
