Matilda

This book is about a brilliant, sensitive little girl named Matilda who uses her intelligence and magical powers to create a better life for herself and her favorite teacher, Miss Honey. Despite being born into an unloving and unappreciative family, Matilda finds refuge in books, which offer her an escape from the oppressive environment of her household. She teaches herself to read at an extraordinarily young age and develops telekinetic abilities.
