The Simple Art of Flying follows the life and story of Alastair, a lonely African grey parrot who loves to eat poetry for breakfast. He believes he can fly and longs to escape from the pet shop to live life on his own terms together with his sister Aggie. However, his life takes an unexpected twist when he encounters 12-year-old Fritz, who is equally quirky and has an unusual love for cherries and animals. In his journey, Alastair finds the courage to accept the kindness he deserves.
