The Tournament at Gorlan

This is the first prequel in the Ranger's Apprentice series, where series heroes Halt and Crowley band together to prevent Prince Duncan from being overthrown. As the story unfolds, their plan to find the prince and restore him to his rightful place leads them to a secret meeting at Gorlan, where they must confront their old enemies and face the battle that will decide the fate of the kingdom.
